Classes are 5-week sessions on Tuesdays 10:00-11:30a.

In this series of homeschool classes, students will have the opportunity to build their art skills with five-class sessions that investigate Animal Art, Painting, or Sculpture techniques in depth. Every week, students will be able to explore a range of tools and materials, experience the fun of making art, and express themselves as they create individual art pieces of their own!

January 9–February 6
Color Theory
Learn the basics of mixing colors and color creation.


February 13–March 12
Drawing Basics
Building your drawing skills takes time and practice. This class will go over the basics and help you grow as an artist.


March 19–April 16 (No class March 26)
Wonderful World of Landscapes
In this class we will draw, paint and explore the wonderful world of landscapes.

January 9–February 6
Art Through Literature
Students will take characters from well-known works of literature and create artworks using paint, sculpture, and so much more.

February 13–March 12
To the Stars and Beyond! 
Students will learn about the study of  planets, stars, galaxies, and more, then use various mediums to create out-of-this-world masterpieces. 

March 19–April 23 (No class March 26)
Over the Garden Wall
Let’s have some fun discovering the wonders of botanicals! Students will explore printmaking using flowers, sun printing using leaves, and even building a birdhouse.

Science + Art
In this class, students will learn about the different fields of science and create art inspired by the topic of the day. 

February 14–March 13
Living Artist
Explore the unique artists creating art today! We will learn about their artwork and make our own inspired by what we’ve seen. 

March 20–April 24 (No class March 27)
Art History
Every week we will look at a different art period, then create artwork inspired by it. From prehistoric to contemporary, students will learn about art throughout history.

In order to start with Intermediate Painting (w/o Beginner Painting) or Advanced Painting (w/o Beginner & Intermediate Painting), you must email photos of paintings to the director of art education, Caryn Marsella at for approval.

January 11–February 8
Progressive Painting Class: Beginner
This class will start with painting basics. We will go over supplies needed and their uses. Learn how to mix colors with acrylic paint, create texture with watercolor, and design a composition. 

February 15–March 14
Progressive Painting Class: Intermediate 
We use our acrylic and watercolor techniques learned in Beginner Painting and add new skills, including blending colors and creating value. 

March 21–April 25 (No class March 28)
Progressive Painting Class: Advanced
Using the skills learned in Beginner and Intermediate Painting, students will create paintings on canvas, guided by the instructors.

Saturday Art Club

Ages 5–12 | Saturdays, 10 a.m.–11 a.m.
5-class session: $80 (RAM Family Members and above $72.00)

This class is open to kids of varying ages and interest levels. Students will stretch their creative capacities and expand their knowledge in the use of different art materials.

Morning Session: 

(Ages 6– 8) Explore the world of art through this class! Student’s will dive into the different mediums and techniques to create their own unique artwork.

(Ages 9–15) Enhance your skills in this art class where students will work on their perspective, creating realistic subject matter, and many more using a variety of mediums.

(Ages 13+) The Art of Tinkering: Take things apart, explore tools and materials, and build wondrous, wild art that’s part science and part technology.


Afternoon Session:

(All ages)  Explore diverse topics, techniques and mediums in this art class. Students will be taken out of their comfort zone to create art that challenges them.

Morning Session 

(Grades K–2)Come experience the wonders of art. Dabble in different mediums, including clay, painting, printmaking, and many others.  Enjoy the festivities and be amazed!

(Grades 3–6) Learn how artists use color, perspective, shape, line and tone, and pattern and texture in their work. Then apply those ideas to create your own frameable artwork to take home each day.

(Grades 7+)    In this mixed-media class, there are no fixed rules in the creative process. We will use different mediums every day to create and learn about different types of art. From cardboard sculptures and clay portraits to collages with different materials, this class will explore different styles and let students explore their creativity.

Afternoon Session  (All ages) For centuries, those who were training to become artists went to galleries and replicated others’ artwork to strengthen their skills so they could develop their own unique style. In this class, students will study artwork at RAM and The Cheech, recreate it, and then produce a masterpiece of their own creation.

Cancellation Policy

Should you need to cancel your registration, a request must be submitted in writing and received one week prior to the start of class. A 15% fee is retained for cancellation by enrollee. No exceptions. *We require a minimum number of students to hold a class. In case of cancellation, parents will be notified through given contact information.
