A.M. Class @ RAM Drawing Skills (Ages 5–9) 

Explore the elements of line, shape, form, space, texture, and color. By exploring these elements and experimenting with different drawing approaches, techniques, and materials, students can develop their understanding of art and enhance their artistic skills.

A.M. Class @ RAM Art History Exploration (Ages 10+)

Explore different art movements throughout history, from prehistoric to contemporary. By learning about new and old artists, students will gain insight into different artistic styles, techniques, and concepts, allowing them to develop their own unique artistic voices. 

A.M. Class @ Cheech The Art of Filmmaking for Beginners (Ages 10+)

Students will be instructed in how to make a 1–2-minute short film in the span of a week.  By the end of the week, students will have gained valuable skills in storytelling, video production and editing.  They will also have the satisfaction of completing their first short film, which can serve as a foundation for further exploration and growth in the field of filmmaking.  

(In this class students will use iPads provided by RAM. If students have their own, they are welcome to bring them.)

P.M. Class @ RAM Art Inspired by Science (Ages 5–9) 

Art inspired by science is a fascinating intersection where creativity and scientific inquiry come together. It encourages students to think critically, observe the world around them, and find creative and artistic ways to communicate scientific ideas. 

P.M. Class @ RAM California the Beautiful (Ages 10+)

From the shores of the Pacific Ocean to the sands of the Mojave Desert and the majestic Redwood forests, California is brimming with natural wonders. In this class we will create pieces that explore the animals, plants, and landscapes of this great and beautiful state. Come ready to paint, draw, collage and sculpt!

A.M. Class @ RAM Forts and Secret Hideaways (Ages 5–9)

Use various materials to create a secret hideaway. Let your creativity expand beyond the canvas as you combine architecture, painting, sculpture, and more to create a one-of-a-kind experience for all who enter. 

A.M. Class @ RAM Paint, Twist, Sculpt (Ages 10+)

Explore, experiment, and create sculptures using clay, papier-mâché and wire. Learn techniques and basic skills to construct beautiful artworks and amazing 3D sculptures.

A.M. Class @ Cheech  The Art of Filmmaking, Advanced (Teens) 

Students who are returning to The Art of Filmmaking class or have some experience making and editing their own videos are welcome in this class. Students will be guided through making another short film. They will receive advanced training and knowledge on moviemaking and will be expected to use shooting and editing techniques taught to them in class. The group will also work as a team to build a collective short film with their instructor.

(In this class students will use iPads provided by RAM. If students have their own, they are welcome to bring them.)

A.M. Class @ RAM Poetry-Flex your Fire (Teen) NEW!

w/ James Coats in partnership with Inlandia. Flex Your Fire Workshop- Is an introductory creative writing workshop where we will explore traditional poetic forms, spoken word slams, use of figurative language, the narrative arc, ways to overcome writer’s block, as well as publishing secrets and performance techniques. We will investigate topics of identity, culture, how to find your voice, and much more.

P.M. Class @ RAM Ocean Life (Ages 5–9) 

In this class, students will dive into the fascinating world of marine life and use it as inspiration for their artwork. They will explore the diverse creatures and vibrant colors of the ocean. Then, through various artistic mediums such as painting, drawing, and college, students will create artwork that captures the beauty and wonder of the underwater world. 

P.M. Class @ RAM Collage (Ages 10+) 

Collages can be simple pieces of art or sophisticated works incorporating fabric, paper, and other materials. Students will learn techniques like cutting, tearing, and arranging materials to compose unique compositions.  The class encourages imagination, experimentation, and storytelling through the medium of collage. Join us as we foster both artistic skills and self-expression in a fun and interactive environment.

Students will explore the fascinating world of animals through artistic expression. They will learn about different animal species and their anatomy, behavior, and habitats, and use this knowledge to create artwork inspired by the animal kingdom.

A.M. Class @ RAM Procreate (Ages 10+)

In this Procreate class, aspiring digital artists learn how to use the Procreate app on an iPad to create stunning artworks. We’ll explore digital drawing and painting techniques including layering, blending, and using various brushes and tools. The class provides step-by-step guidance and encourages experimentation, allowing students to unleash their creativity and develop their own unique style.

Come and explore art from around the world using a variety of artistic mediums. Each day we’ll explore art from a new country or region and respond with our own artworks.

A.M. Class @ RAM Plein Air for Teens—Capture a Place in Time. NEW! 

Plein Air is simply a painting executed outdoors that captures the scene directly in front of the artist. This class enables teenagers to share this unique experience as we take our canvases outside to various downtown Riverside locations—perhaps the arch of the Mission Inn one day and the old City hall building the next!

A.M. Class @ Cheech Exploring Creativity with Clay (Ages 5–12) 

Students will have the opportunity to explore their creativity and learn the art of working with clay. We’ll explore various techniques, such as hand-building and sculpting, to create unique and personalized clay creations.

What is something you cannot live without? Food! We as humans are obsessed with food. In this class, we’ll look at artists who are inspired by food and food from around the world. Get ready for a fun-filled class where we stare at food and create art inspired by it. .

From our smallest creatures to the biggest, this class combines our love of animals and art as we create collages, clay sculptures, and painting keepsakes using different mediums. 

A.M. Class @ RAM The Art of Nature (Ages 10+)

Connect with the natural world as inspiration and canvas. Students will learn to observe the shapes, colors, and textures of their environment and incorporate them into their creations. From leaf rubbings and flower collages to rock painting and nature sculptures, this class encourages students to express their creativity while fostering a deeper appreciation for the beauty of nature. 

A.M. Class @ Cheech  “Arte y Yo” (Spanglish fun) (Ages 5–12) 

Explore the world of art while learning Spanish!  Through engaging activities and projects, we’ll create colorful artworks inspired by Spanish-speaking cultures and artists. Learn basic Spanish vocabulary related to colors, shapes, and art supplies while expressing creativity with paints, clay, and other materials.  This class combines language learning with artistic expression, providing a fun and immersive experience. ¡Vamos a pintar y aprender juntos! (Let’s paint and learn together!)

P.M. Class @ RAM Upcycled Art (Ages 5–9) 

We’ll create vibrant collages, sculpture, and other artworks using recycled materials such as bottle caps, cardboard, and newspapers — having fun and promoting environmental awareness through art.

In this class you’ll delve into the world of three-dimensional art. Learn techniques for shaping and manipulating various materials, such as clay, wood, metals, or found objects to create exciting sculptures.

A.M. Class @ RAM All About Color! (Ages 5-9)

Dive into the exciting world of color theory. Through engaging lessons and hands-on projects, we’ll explore the properties of color, learn about color mixing, and discover how colors can evoke different emotions and moods in art. By working with paint, pastels, and colored pencils, students will experiment with different color combinations to create visually striking artworks.   

A.M. Class @ RAM Music Expressions (Ages 9–12) NEW!

Musical Expressions: This workshop will allow participants to explore, understand and adventure into a world of sounds and rhythms, allowing us to explore emotions and express these in a healthy and fun way. Music Expressions is designed as an introduction into the world of music, where kids will be able to play different instruments, understand how they work, and most importantly, learn how these tools can allow us to express a variety of emotions.

A.M. Class @ RAM Teen Drawing (Ages 13+)

Develop the ability to draw realistic images by exploring contour, line, positive and negative space, perspective, proportion, and shading through portraiture, chiaroscuro, landscape, and figure drawing. This class provides a supportive environment for teens to express themselves visually, build confidence in their abilities, and explore their artistic interests further. 

A.M. Class @ Cheech  Mini Chicano Art History Class for Teens (Ages 13+) 

This class will be an overview of Chicano Art from El Movimiento in the 1960s to contemporary works. Students will learn about different mediums and subject matters to incorporate into their own artworks.

P.M. Class @ RAM Cartooning (All Ages) 

Learn how to draw and invent your own cartoon characters and stories.  Students will design their 2D characters and make their very own storylines.

Think of your favorite fantasy book, video game, movie, or TV show and imagine all the extraordinary characters and places that could inspire you. Using a variety of materials this class will teach you how to create fantasy characters and landscapes.

Create beautiful artworks inspired by the beautiful outdoors! This class will focus on landscapes in multiple mediums including painting, drawing and collage. Inspired by the ocean, the sky, the desert, and the city, we’ll use the elements of art to create amazing landscapes.

A.M. Class @ RAM Digital Art Class (Teen) NEW!

In this digital art class, students will learn to use both Procreate and Canva computer programs. Through Procreate we’ll explore digital drawing and painting techniques including layering, blending, and using various brushes and tools. With Canva we’ll explore photo editing and learn to create stunning social media posts, videos, cards flyers, and photo collages. This class is an engaging way for students to explore the digital realm.

Explore the wonders of outer space through a variety of creative projects.  We’ll paint colorful galaxies, sculpt alien creatures from clay, and craft rockets from recycled materials. Through these projects, students will not only have fun but also learn about space and let their imaginations soar to the stars and beyond!
