Museum Volunteer Partners (MVP) Program

The Riverside Art Museum (RAM) relies on volunteers in every aspect of our organization and value the time, talent, and passions of volunteers to contribute to realizing our mission-driven work. Through leadership, programs, special-event planning, fundraisers, and special projects, volunteers help to strengthen our capacity to meet the evolving needs of our community.

The Museum Volunteer Partners are committed to the core values of:

  • Creating a supportive climate where the unique gifts of volunteers are recognized and nurtured, and where dedicated staff and resources support meaningful volunteer opportunities.
  • Finding joy and fulfillment in our mission-driven work.
  • Being inclusive to all who seek to learn about or are interested in art.
  • Listening to everyone’s thoughts and opinions and employing empathy in all interactions.
  • Being open to growth, change, and new ideas.
  • Doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.

What is the process to volunteer?

Requirements:

Volunteers are committed to two hours a week for six months. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment, be detail oriented, have a positive attitude, commit to our mission-driven work, be passionate about art, and enjoy interacting with the public.

Submit an Application:

If you’re interested in volunteering, please fill out and submit an application.

Your application will be held for three months. Based on your availability, skills, preferences, and enthusiasm, you will be contacted for an interview.

Next Steps:

After an interview has taken place and a committed schedule has been agreed upon, all new volunteers will attend an orientation. During this time, you will receive a tour, meet staff, discuss policies, expectations, and receive training.

If you are not contacted, you are welcome to re-apply within the next application period. Due to limited working space, availability, and museum need, we cannot facilitate every volunteer request.
