Adrian Dizon and Ciscostreetlenz present The Human Interaction is a Beautiful Thing, an ongoing lens based project of discovery and reflection upon the ethical cores based in collaboration and in one’s photographic practice.
This forthcoming exhibition presented at the Riverside Arts Museum tracks an immersive journey throughout the Inland Empire and Los Angeles in pursuit of stories–those ultimately drawn from the deep connection between photographer and the people who grace their lens. By contextualizing the camera as a tool to establish rapport and take poetic record, Dizon and Streetlenz reveal a creative practice that offers those who step in front of the camera, including themselves, a reflective moment of tenderness and self liberation.
Los Angeles native, Ciscostreetlenz (b. 1972) is a self taught photographer who picked up a camera and started capturing images as a way to express his place in this world. Most of his focus is on the people and places that shaped both his love and his vision. The portraits are not just people, they are Los Angeles. Cisco’s photographs are the expressions of his place in the city, his relation to it and love for it, each image a breathy love poem.
Adrian Dizon (b. 1993) is a Filipino-American photographer, filmmaker based in Riverside, California. A self taught image maker and storyteller, his photographic style draws from the immediacy of the moment with recognition for the communities he supports and those that have come before them. With journalistic intuition and ethnographic practice, he aims to tell it how it is and shoot from the gut, often self operating both still and motion photography for his personal projects.
