@ Riverside Art Museum

April 11 – April 28, 2013

Reception: April 17, 2013, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Continuing a tradition that is now in its 51st year, the Riverside Art Museum is proud to celebrate its long history hosting the Press-Enterprise Riverside County High School Art Show. High school students across the county submitted a piece of original artwork within the categories of: Photography, Ceramics, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Acrylic / Oil Painting, Watercolor, Drawing in Black and White, Drawing in Color, and Graphic Art. All artwork was judged by a panel of four respected artists and figures in the local art community to select winners from each category, as well as ‘Best of Show,’ sponsorship awards, and honorable mentions.

This year, RAM proudly joins forces with our partnering exhibition venue at the Riverside Public Library, Main Branch, one block away from RAM. The fifty-one award-winning pieces are displayed at RAM in the Bobbie Powell and Ross DeVean gallery on the second floor, where their award titles will be displayed following the award reception on April 17. All other submissions will be displayed throughout the 2nd level of the Riverside Public Library’s Auditorium.  Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners will receive cash awards, while sponsorship and honorable mention winners will receive an official award certificate.

And for those friends and family that aren’t able to make it out, the exhibition also includes a “virtual gallery” of all artwork submissions, viewable online, from April 10th – 28th, at: www.pe.com/student-art-show.

The 51st Annual Press-Enterprise Riverside County High School Art Show received generous support from: The Press-Enterprise, Bank of America, Walgreens, City of Riverside, and Burgess Moving and Storage.
