@ Riverside Art Museum
January 8 – February 6, 2009
Reception: February 5, 2009, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Ensenada Views opens the door for Riverside to engage with its sister city Ensenada, Mexico. Through the various pieces on display, viewers will be able see the heart of Ensenada. The city is located 65 miles south of the border and is an agricultural town with a modern edge. This rural, modern feel is depicted in Ensenada Views through its depictions of agricultural scenes as well as scenes of vibrant color used to elicit an emotional experience for the viewer.
This exhibit is part of the Riverside/Ensenada Views Project, created to further connect these two cities by sharing culture through visual art. The Casa de la Cultura exhibited works of local Riverside artists in their gallery in Ensenada in November, 2008. Ensenada Views is the final tie in the Riverside/Ensenada Views Project, allowing both cities to actively engage through viewing works from their sister city. Additional works from Ensenada can be seen at Riverside Community Arts Association (RCAA).
Project organized by Riverside Community Arts Association (RCAA), Riverside Art Museum (RAM) and Casa De La Cultura of Ensenada, Mexico.
In partnership with the International Relations Council of Riverside, Riverside Arts Council, City of Riverside, Riverside Downtown Partnership.
