Life Logistics

Exhibition: January 7, 2023–April 16, 2023

At The Cheech Center

The Garcia Center for the Arts is honored to present Life Logistics, a group exhibition showcasing the work of local San Bernardino creatives and organizations in the fight for economic security, environmental justice, and tighter regulations on the logistics-industry presence in the area.

Through grassroot activism and community engagement, these artists and cultural organizations are changing the narrative and outlook of the region. Whether by cultivating symbiotic relationships with local government, creating community gardens and safe artistic spaces, or developing inclusive and empathetic language, they’re helping build healthier neighborhoods and shaping solutions to an increasingly complex and inequitable world.

As a community arts space, the Garcia Center for the Arts strives to foster collaboration and creativity. Housed in an historic adobe building in the heart of San Bernardino that was built in 1935 as a fire station, the center now hosts gallery exhibitions and classes in ceramics and screen printing, as well as serving as a venue for concerts and performances. The center is home to a number of cultural organizations such as the San Bernardino Symphony, the Arts Council of San Bernardino County (Arts Connection), and The Young S.A.M.O.A. community group.

The Altura Credit Union Community Gallery is committed to exhibiting work from artists and curators from the Inland Empire community, ensuring the stories of the region are reflected at The Cheech. This gallery was chosen by Altura Credit Union to bear their name, reflecting Altura’s sixty plus years in Riverside County and their commitment to community and cultural enrichment through the arts.
