EXHIBITION ON VIEW: June 18, 2022 – January 1, 2023

Location: Altura Credit Union Community Gallery

Even though our methods of expression are different, our cultural roots are harvested from the same land. Organized by guest curator Cosme Córdova, the inaugural exhibition in the Altura Credit Union Community Gallery was titled Reflection of Our Stories.

It featured 17 artists from around Southern California who had deep connections to the Inland Empire and reflected a small cross-section of a diverse artistic community. Córdova is a community organizer, artist, curator, and founder of Division 9 Gallery. He also co-founded Riverside’s Dia de Los Muertos festival in 2003. He has curated exhibitions at the Riverside Art Museum (RAM) and has exhibited his own work at RAM, UCR Sweeney Gallery, and the Museum of Riverside, among others. Córdova has founded and organized many annual festivals and events in Riverside, including the Mariachi Festival, “Artnival”, and the monthly Riverside Arts Walk, which he co-founded with Mark Schooley of the Riverside Community Art Association.
