Featuring activities for all-ages\, the event takes place every first Sunday of the month from 1 to 4 p.m. \n\n\n\nAs part of Free Sundays\, Riverside Art Museum (Julia Morgan Building) and The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture are both free and open to the public from 12 to 5 p.m. No tickets are necessary.

All ages are welcome\, and materials are provided free of charge. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nActivity #1: Monarch Crafts & Storytime with (@almarosaazul) \n\n\n\nDate: 11/2/2025Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PMLocation: Education Classroom \n\n\n\nJoin local poet @almarosaazul in the Education Classroom for Monarch crafts and storytime. We will be discussing the monarch butterfly and the way it relates to Dia de los muertos\, migration\, and culture \n\n\n\nActivity #2: Papel Picado Workshop with UCR GLUCK Fellows Jo & Nico (@rio.junto) \n\n\n\nDate: 11/2/2025Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PMLocation: Auditorium \n\n\n\nJoin artists Jo & Nico @rio.junto from the UCR GLUCK Fellows Program for a hands-on workshop in traditional papel picado—the colorful\, intricate paper banners that decorate ofrendas and community altars. Participants can contribute their creations to the museum’s community altar or take them home as keepsakes. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCommunity Altar (Ofrenda) \n\n\n\nOpen: Saturday & Sunday\, November 1–2 from 12-5pm \n\n\n\nLocation: Sala Jose Medina  \n\n\n\nVisitors are invited to bring printed photocopies of loved ones to place on the museum’s community altar\, honoring those who have passed.If you don’t have images to bring\, join us on Sunday 11/2 for a special art activity where you can create a meaningful artwork to add to the ofrenda. \n\n\n\nCome together with family\, friends\, and neighbors to celebrate memory\, heritage\, and creativity in a weekend of reflection and artmaking.
