Watercolor is a wonderful light-filled medium that sometimes strikes needless fear in the hearts
of new painters. Join us as we demystify this sometimes elusive medium.
Whether you want to paint watercolor paintings, use watercolor to enhance other mediums
(pen and ink, pencil, etc.), or wish to capture sketchbook moments and nature illustrations, this
workshop is the steppingstone to your journey.
Through demonstrations and hands-on painting we will cover the basic tools (brushes, paint,
paper and other painting surfaces) and their use, along with various watercolor techniques that
can make your present and future watercolor experiences more enjoyable and successful. You
will feel the magic as a dab of watercolor blends with other wet colors on your paper and use
what you have learned to paint a small watercolor]

About John “JJ” Dougan
An explorer at heart, I consider myself fortunate to have visited and experienced incredible locations throughout the world.
Working primarily in watercolor, but equally happy with a sketchbook in hand, my art, whether painted “en plein air” or in my Riverside, California studio, captures moments from my experiences. My art also reflects wide and diverse interests in nature, wildlife, the landscape, and, of course, people, the heart of
communities everywhere. My watercolors are owned by collectors locally, across the United States, and in England, Germany and Australia.

Cancellation Policy
Should you need to cancel your registration, a request must be submitted in writing and received one week prior to the start of class. A 15% fee is retained for cancellation by enrollee. No exceptions. *We require a minimum number of students to hold a class. In case of cancellation, you will be notified through given contact information.
