Walk and Wonder Museum Tours Docent

Contracted: $15/hour

We are looking for a Walk and Wonder Museum Tour docent with open availability who enjoys talking to students about art. We provide all training and information needed to give the tour portion of the Walk and Wonder program. You will not be teaching the art lesson portion of the program.

Having fine art and/or teaching experience with youth, K-8th grade, is preferred.

Be willing to work a couple days per month for 1 or 2 hours at a time, usually between 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. or 10 a.m. – 12 noon.

Be available for training at the end of January with a few tours available in February and many more available in March – May.

Accounting Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited, to:

  • Ensure compliance with RAM’s Financial Policies and Procedures approved by the Board of Trustees; these policies and procedures outline internal controls for restricted funds, endowment funds, payroll, purchases, payables, disbursements, receivables, cash receipts;
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. generally-accepted accounting principles and all federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules;
  • Ensure compliance with requirements, terms, and reporting specified in grants and pledge agreements and other legal agreements;
  • Understand different museum departments’ functions and decipher patterns of expenses, revenues, invoicing;
  • Maintain RAM’s current accounting system, General Ledger, and Chart of Accounts in Quickbooks;
  • With contracted Accountant prepare monthly financial reports (Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Activities, Budget vs. Actual, cash flow) for Finance Committee;
  • Work with Executive Director on the Finance Committee meeting schedule, agenda, and preparation of materials;
  • Attend monthly Finance Committee Meetings and record/prepare minutes for approval (10 – 12 times per year);
  • At the end of each month, prepare custom reports for Board of Trustees (such as Blue Door Museum Store, various fundraisers);
  • Provide analytical and statistical reports to senior management, including research and analysis pertaining to budget variances and make recommendations to management for decision making; this includes meeting monthly with development and education department staff to review status of grants, pledges, and other contributed income and reporting requirements, and quarterly to reconcile accounting and development records;
  • At the end of each fiscal year with the Contracted Accountant prepare finance reports for annual audit and liaison with CPA firm for annual audit; and prepare annual federal and state Information Returns;
  • Supervise Accounting Clerk regarding QuickBooks transactions and activities as detailed per Accounting Clerk job description; during Accounting Clerk’s absence for annual vacation make arrangements for temporary assistance;
  • Record and process transactions in QuickBooks pertaining to month-end/closing, journal entries, timecards/payroll;
  • At the end of each month, complete monthly bank account reconciliations (general operating, grant account, Art Alliance account, saving accounts), authorized account transfers, and signature information;
  • At the end of each month, post journal entries for Schwab transactions (four different funds);
  • At the end of each month, make adjustments for accrued and deferred items;
  • Supervise Front Desk cash-register procedures;
  • Prepare quarterly sales tax due reports;
  • Prepare business property tax reports;
  • With Executive Director and Contracted Accountant, develop RAM’s annual budgets;
  • Prepare cash flow statements and payables timing analysis;
  • Keep RAM's insurance policies current, accurate, and appropriate;
  • Calculate 1099 forms;
  • Provide support for financial planning with Board Committees and special projects as needed;
  • Oversee implementation of new point of sale system working with appointed task force; and
  • Attend staff meetings.

Desired Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate is an exceptional numbers person who is highly organized, detail-oriented, results-driven, curious, able to synthesize information, able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, and never miss a deadline;
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office and QuickBooks is required;
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field;
  • Three or more years professional bookkeeping experience and working knowledge of fund accounting;
  • Be familiar with Raiser’s Edge;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the  ability to communicate clearly with a variety of people through email, in person, and over the phone;
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor with the ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others;
  • Self-motivated with sense of urgency and initiative;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities while achieving high-level results; and
  • Must have successful background check.
