Forts and Secret Hideaways, Ages 5 – 8

From animals to secret agents, everyone needs a secret hideaway. Students will use a variety of materials to create hidden spaces. They’ll create maps and drawings that they might need for a getaway. Let your creativity expand beyond the canvas as you design a secret hideaway from your imagination. You will combine elements such as architecture, painting, sculpture, bamboo, string, and more to create a one-of-a-kind experience for all those who enter.

Flower Power, Ages 9 – 12

Get in touch with nature by using different mediums to create beautiful flower masterpieces, inspired by our exhibit Naida Osline: Florescence.

Surrealist Expressions for Teens, Ages 13+

Investigate the bizarre works of Salvador Dali’s melting clocks, Hannah Hocks’s human monsters, and Rene Magritte’s falling apples. Explore the wonderful works of fantasy and dreams that are the strange art movement of Surrealism. Students will create and paint whimsical creatures and design their own surrealist collages. Their creativity will be ignited as they question the definition of art, while pushing the boundaries of artistic self-expression.

Afternoon Session, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Paint/Twist/Sculpt, All ages

Young artists will explore, experiment, and create sculptures using different materials, including: clay, papier-mâché, wood, and wire. Each student will learn techniques and basic skills in this class to construct beautiful artworks and amazing 3-D sculptures.
