Nunez, Leonardo - CA Missions, 'Santa Inez' crop web.jpgMissions of California

Tuesdays, February 7 – March 14

4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. | Ages 7 – 10

The Missions are unique physical representations of an important era in California's history, as well as a repository for treasured native Californian artifacts. Today, the missions are some of California's oldest buildings and most visited historic monuments. Join us as we look at our mission-related Permanent Collection artwork and learn about the history, daily routines, and the goals of the missions. Students will then create their own Mission from the medium of their choice.

NOTE: If you have a 4th grader, you’ll want to sign him or her up for this class as the California 4th Grade Mission Project requires the creation of a model of the student's mission of choice as part of the 4th grade curriculum.
