Badass Women: Memory and Image with Cati Porter (The 52 Project Members Only)

Join author Cati Porter for a special two-hour, multi-genre writing workshop exploring memory and image. Who are the badass women in your life? Bring your badass self and an object or a photograph or two for inspiration.

Linocut Laboratory with Pável Acevedo

This workshop will explore linoleum carving an image and the process of editing and printing by choosing the right materials to create a final edition. Skill level requirement: student must have some previous experience with linocut or woodcut, other printmaking techniques, or have drawing skills.

Hand Printing on Fabric with Tim Musso 

In this three-hour workshop, students will learn how to use hand gouges to carve a graphic stamp in linoleum. The stamps will be pressed onto a canvas tote they can take home. Designs will be provided, but feel free to bring your own designs.

About Tim Musso: Featured Inland Ink artist Tim Musso has been making relief prints for twenty years. For the past decade, he has taught printmaking at La Sierra University. In addition, he has taught printmaking workshops at Laguna College of Art and Design, Saddleback College, and Glendale College.

Students encouraged to bring additional light-colored cotton fabric/garments to print on.

 

Relief Prints from Start to Finish with Denise Kraemer

Trace, carve, ink, and print your own original relief print. This course is an introduction to the fundamental techniques of relief printing. Students will design, learn carving skills with easy-to-carve linoleum, inking and printing techniques, and will be able to produce a small single color edition of prints. Each student will leave with a Speedball linoleum cutter and a carved linoleum plate so they can continue to print at home.
