Acrylic paint is a modern, water-based medium adopted by many artists in all painting genres. It is fast drying, permanent, very forgiving, and extremely versatile. Examples of acrylic techniques taught are: dry brush, layering, highlight, shadow, blending, and textures. Additional techniques will be added on an ongoing basis.

6-class session: $175 (RAM Individual Members and above $157.50)

Necessary materials:

    • Acrylic Paints:
      • Only Liquitex Basics or Grumbacher Acadamy or Golden Acrylics.
      • Colors: Cadmium red (medium), Cadmium yellow (medium), Ultramarine blue, Titanium white, Paynes grey, Hookers green, Prism violet OR Dioxazine purple, Alizarine crimson, Cerulean blue, Burnt umber, and Burnt sienna.
    • Pad of Strathmore canvas paper 
    • Two 9”x12” or 11”x14” artist canvas 
    • White plastic plate
    • 2 plastic water cups
    • White paper towels
    • Brushes:
      • Golden or White Tacklon bristles, short or long handle
      • 1” flat, ½“ flat, ¼” angle, #10 round, #8 round and #0 or #1 liner/script brush.
